4th Additional Dormitory Application for Undergraduate (Including Preparatory) Students and 3rd Additional Dormitory Application for Graduate Students

1. Application Period

Applications will be accepted online between 16-20 October 2025.
(Applications will open on 16 October at 10:00 and close on 20 October at 17:00.)
Late applications will not be accepted.

2. How to Apply for the Dormitory Online

Firstly, the applicants must access the dormitory application form via
https://ybs.bogazici.edu.tr/#/auth/login

Secondly, the application form must be completed and approved. After submitting the application, applicants may update their information until the application deadline.

When a completed application is pulled up, the system automatically labels it as a draft. Applications left in draft status will not be evaluated; therefore, applicants must ensure that their applications are fully completed. It is recommended that applications be submitted using a computer.

3. Documents to Be Uploaded to the System During Application

• Copy of the Republic of Türkiye Identity Card (passport copy for international students)
• Personal health information form (via e-Devlet)
• Criminal record certificate (via e-Devlet)
• Address history certificate (to be obtained separately in the names of the mother and father) (via e-Devlet)
• Certificate of Identity Register Copy (Detailed) (entire family) (via e-Devlet)
• Document indicating the mother’s income status
• Document indicating the father’s income status
• Official document from the relevant institution indicating residence under state protection (subject to Law No. 2828 on Social Services), if declared
• Document indicating status as a martyr’s or veteran’s child, if declared
• Student certificate for a sibling currently enrolled in education, if declared
• Disability report (minimum 40%), if declared
• Title deed and vehicle registration certificate (via e-Devlet)
• Other documents, if applicable

Documents to be uploaded to the system must be in PDF, JPEG, or JPG format and no larger than 5 MB. Documents not obtained via e-Devlet must be uploaded with a wet signature or official stamp. All uploaded documents must have been issued within the past three months. Please verify the accuracy of the documents and click the “Save” button. 4. Dormitory Moving-in and Documents to be Delivered

Undergraduate and graduate students who are eligible for placement will be placed in the 1st Kilyos Dormitory; among preparatory students, females will be placed in the Anadolu Hisarı Dormitory and males to the Kandilli Dormitory, subject to availability. (No preparatory student will be placed in the 1st Kilyos Dormitory.)

Students who are eligible for placement must submit the 2025-2026 Academic Year Dormitory Commitment Form and a photocopy of their guarantor’s ID card to the relevant dormitory administration during the settlement process and pay the deposit. 5. Evaluation of Applications

After family residency is checked through the Central Civil Registration System (MERNİS), students whose parents reside outside the designated borders for Istanbul will be admitted within the scope of available quotas. Additional documents may be requested during family residency checks, or an official letter may be sent to the Directorate General of Civil Registration and Citizenship Affairs.

The applications of those who fail to upload the documents to the system within the specified period, submit them incompletely, or have contradictions and inconsistencies between the information in the application form and the documents will be cancelled. Priority in dormitory placement will be given to those who subject to Law No. 2828, those who have dormitory scholarship for their national ranking (top 100), children of martyrs and veterans, and those with orthopedic disabilities or visual impairments of 40% and more, provided that they complete their applications and upload their documents to the system.

Dormitory placements and rights will cover the 2025 – 2026 academic year. Dormitory applications for the 2026-2027 academic year will be re-evaluated, and placements will be made based on the quota. 6. Announcement of the Placement List and Placement Date

The list of students who have been accepted to dormitories will be announced on yurtlar.bogazici.edu.tr after document verification.

7. Other Matters

Room assignments for students who are eligible for placement will be made randomly from the central system based on the available quota.

Boğaziçi University dormitories are managed and supervised in accordance with the provisions of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Higher Education Private Accomodation Services Regulation and the Boğaziçi University Dormitory Directive.

Since our dormitories are part of Boğaziçi University, they are not affiliated with Higher Education Credit and Hostels Institution (KYK).

Students who get placed in the dormitories must bring their own mattres protector (mandatory), bed linens, pillow, blanket, towel etc.

Our university does not offer accomodation services to the students’ relatives.

The age limit for undergraduate students is 25, but the application age limit is 29.

The age limit is 28 for graduate students and 30 for PhD students. However, the application age limit is 30 for graduate students and 32 for PhD students.

Undergraduate students: A total of eight semesters within the normal duration for four year programs starting from the semester they begin the program, and a total of ten semesters for five year and double major programs. Duration of stay in dormitory for English prepatory year is two semesters, and this period is excluded from the undergraduate semesters. Students enrolled in a Double Major Program or who have gone abroad within the scope of Erasmus & Exchange programs are granted an additional semester. (The semester requirement for application is set at 12 semesters for four year programs and 14 semesters for five year programs, but the semesters mentioned in the explanation will be primarily used as a reference in the evaluation. It is set at 4 semesters for master’s programs and 7 semesters for PhD programs.)
